03/07/2008 - 11:00am

Location: Western Presbyterian Church, 2401 Virginia Ave., NW, Washington, D.C.

Description: Recent U.S. policy toward Iran has consisted of efforts to impose sanctions and vague talk of “confronting the danger before it’s too late.” We’ll talk about how the United States has gotten to this point and how we can encourage a new direction: vigorous, comprehensive diplomacy. We’ll also share reflections from Mennonite Central Committee’s 17-year history of working in Iran, including recent travel to Iran.

Speakers: J. Daryl Byler, Mennonite Central Committee Regional Representative for Jordan, Iraq, Iran and Palestine; Rachelle Lyndaker Schlabach, Director, Mennonite Central Committee Washington Office

Directions: Western Presbyterian Church is located at 2401 Virginia Ave., NW, near the Foggy Bottom, GWU Metro stop.
